Ambala: Two minor girls were found abandoned in a train near Ambala City here this morning. The passengers noticed the two and handed them over to the railway police after the train stopped at the Ambala City railway station.The elder girl disclosed her name as Nagma (5) while the younger girl who seems to be around 3 years old could not tell anything. The identity of their parents could not be confirmed so far. The passengers were of the view that the parents might have deliberately left the girls. The railway police has shifted the girls to child line society (CLS) volunteers.According to information, initially the girls would be kept at Mother Teresa House in Ambala Cantonment. Thereafter, they will be produced before the Deputy Commissioner on Sunday and further action will be taken as per his direction.The railway police post incharge, Avtar Singh Ahluwalia, said some of the passengers of Haridwar-Ganganagar Express had handed over the duo to him this morning. It could not be revealed from which station the girls boarded in the train.He said that the station master of Ambala Cantt, Haridwar and few other stations where the train has its stoppage were informed in this regard. |
