New Delhi, May 2 (PTI) Amid ongoing talks on a Presidential poll candidate, Railway Minister and Trinamool Congress leader Mukul Roy today held a meeting with Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley. Roy, considred close to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, met Jaitley this afternoon in the latter's Parliament House office and held a one-on-one meeting with him lasting around 20 minutes. After the meeting, sources said Roy wanted BJP support for the forthcoming discussion on the performance of Railways during the discussion on demands for grants in the Rajya Sabha. BJP sources insisted there was no discussion on the Presidential elections. Mamata earlier in the day said she has not spoken to anyone over the Presidential candidate issue as yet. "I did not speak to anyone. I am going to Delhi. When I am in Delhi, I meet everyone because I was a member of Parliament for 25 years," she told reporters when asked if she would discuss the presidential poll issue in Delhi. She said she would meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi. |
