In the 2009-2010 Railway Budget Rs.10 lakh was sanctioned for a survey. During YSR’s rule, the route via Kadapa, Idupulapaya, Lakkireddy Palle, Rayachoti, Gurramkonda, Vayalpadu, Mulbagal, and Kolar to Bengaluru was marked in the railway survey. The survey was done with changed railway lines after Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy became chief minister.

The present plan covers Kadapa, Idupulapaya, Lakkireddy Palle, Rayachoti, Kalikiri and Vayalpadu. After the Rayachoti ring road came into being several people became rich due to skyrocketing land prices. A railway from Kadapa to Bengaluru will fetch farmers better prices.
