Title - Train services disrupted in Dhanbad division due to Maoist attack

On Gomoh – Barkakana section of East Central Railway Maoists set ablaze an engine and valuable railway equipment apart from vandalizing Dumri Railway station in Bokaro district. This led to disruption of train services in Dhanbad division.

As many as 100 maoists with firearms entered into station premises and forced employees to leave. Later they vandalized station and burnt the station with engine of goods train with other valuable equipment.

Before leaving the station they also took walkie – talkie of loco pilot.

After the incident trains including Gomo-Barkakana Passenger, Ahmedabad-Howrah Express, Jabalpur-Howrah Shaktipunj Express were stranded for several hours.
