Title - Train services affected for second day on Ahmedabad-Mumbai route

AHMEDABAD: The train services remained affected for the second day following heavy rains. On Tuesday, the train services were affected after the water level at the railway bridge between Palej and Miyam in the Vadodara Division started flowing above the danger mark.

Officials said that soon the traffic on Ahmedabad-Mumbai route was stopped later in the day. On Monday, following heavy rains in South Gujarat, the trains were moving late by nearly three to four hours. Officials said that the long distance trains bound for Northern, central and eastern part of the country were diverted from alternative routes via Ratlam, Bhopal. Officials said that however, since the bridge was important connection between Ahmedabad-Mumbai, the important trains like Mumbai-Ahmedabad double decker and Ahmedabad-Mumbai Shatabdi were cancelled.
