Title - Train service across Tamil Nadu disrupted due to Cauvery protests

DMK and other opposition parties called a state wide shutdown demanding constitution of Cauvery Managament Board. Public transportation is worst hit by state wide shutdown and more than 20 express trains were delayed apart from local passenger trains and EMUs.

Protestors detained Kovai Express for more than 30 minutes, Guruvayur Express and Ananthapuri Express were held for 90 minutes. Similarly Erode bound passenger trains were shut for at least 20 minutes.

Six EMU suburban trains were also stopped by protesters fore more than 15 minutes. This caused disruption of EMU services between Chennai and Tiruvallur. 

56718 Tirunelveli - Nagercoil passenger was held by protesters for about an hour between  Tirunelveli and Sankaralingapuram near Tamarabarani bridge.
