Title - Train held up at Cantonment

Hundreds of passengers heading towards Chennai by Kaveri Express (train no. 16221) were put to hardship because of mismatch between coach numbers and reservation chart details on Tuesday night.

The train that had left Mysore at 8.30 p.m. was stopped by passengers at the Cantonment Railway Station at around 11.55 p.m. even as they alleged that only one TTE was onboard to set things right.

Sources in South Western Railway said the mismatch could be due to pasting of coach numbers in reverse order on coaches and pasting of reservation charts in the usual manner.

One of the irate passengers, Dayanand, told The Hindu that people were agitated as the berths reserved for them were occupied by others.

The train was held up at the Cantonment station till 1.15 a.m. though it was scheduled to depart at 11.58 p.m., he added.
