The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Saturday said that they have identified the 19-year-old woman who was allegedly molested and pushed out of the Yeshwantpur-Mysore Express train near Maddur on July 24.The girl is a native of Yachena Halli near Bannur in T. Narasipur taluk, Meer Arif Ali, Deputy Superintendent of Police, told The Hindu here on Saturday. “We managed to convince the girl to give details about her background and other information on Saturday,” Mr. Ali said.According to him, the girl’s brother, family members and other relatives came to know about the incident on Tuesday. But they had hesitated to visit the hospital as the matter had been highlighted in the media.“All the four accused had misbehaved with the girl and it was proved during our investigation,” he said.The GRP have arrested Imran Rashid (21) and Akbar Babu (24) of Kalyan Giri in Mysore, and Suban Iliyas (30) and Amzad Gouse (21) of Ghousia Nagar in Mysore in connection with the incident. A case has been booked against them under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 354 (inflicting external injuries) of the IPC. |
