The 19-year-old woman, who was allegedly molested and pushed out of a moving train near Maddur four days ago, is reportedly refusing to cooperate with the investigation by the Government Railway Police (GRP).The woman, who suffered grievous injuries after being allegedly pushed out of the Yeshwantpur-Mysore Express by four persons on Tuesday, is recovering at Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences here.The GRP police arrested four persons on Tuesday in connection with the incident, which made national headlines.As the victim was refusing to give details about her guardians or her background, GRP Superintendent of Police M. Nanjunda Swamy instructed Deputy Superintendent of Police Meer Arif Ali to investigate the case. The woman, who said that she was a Hubli-based orphan, disclosed that her grandmother lived at Vidyaranyapuram in Mysore. The address she gave was found to be false after GRP personnel tried to contact her grandmother, Mr. Ali said.“We sent our personnel to the garment factory where she said she was working. However, we could not get any details about her,” the officer added.Meanwhile, another GRP officer said: “The accused persons — Imran Rashid (21) and Akbar Babu (24) of Kalyan Giri in Mysore, and Suban Iliyas (30) and Amzad Gouse (21) of Ghousia Nagar in Mysore — confessed that they had misbehaved and assaulted the victim in the train.” All the four had been booked under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 354 (inflicting external injuries) of the Indian Penal Code and certain provisions of the Indian Railways Act.The GRP requested people to assist them in getting to know the victim’s background.People may contact assistant sub-inspector of Mandya outpost, GRP (08232-222340), or the Mysore Railway Police Station (0821-2516579).
