The Thrissur Vigilance Court on Monday adjourned the hearing of the case related to former MD of Kochi Metro Tom Jose, to November 29 after the state government sought one month time to file its response. Last Thursday, the Vigilance court had issued a notice to the state government asking it to explain the circumstances under which Principal Secretary Tom Jose had written to the Union Secretary for Urban Affairs inquiring about the locus standi of former Managing Director of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) E Sreedharan in executing the Kochi Metro Rail and monorail projects in the state.Vigilance Special Judge V Bhaskaran adjourned the case while hearing the plea of the public prosecutor who appeared for the government. The prosecution stated that Jose did not have any official connection with Kochi Metro project now.The petitioner P D Joseph, a social activist, alleged in his petition that Jose had sent the letter to the Union Secretary on behalf of Public Works Minister V K Ebrahim Kunju |
