EXTENSION OF TRAIN SERVICE DEMANDED

Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TNCCI) office-bearers met Union Minister of State for Railways K.Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy here on Tuesday and demanded the extension of Silambu Express – now operated between Chennai Egmore and Manamadurai – up to Shencottah.In a press release, the TNCCI said a delegation comprising its senior president S.Rethinavelu, president N.Jegatheesan, secretary J.Rajamohan and vice-president G.Ganesan met the Minister and said the train was halted at Manamadurai for more than 12 hours before beginning its return journey and that time could be utilised for running it to Shencottah.
