Title - Three trains extended, timings of many changed - The New Indian Express

The timings of many trains under East Coast Railway will be changed from July 1. The ECoR on Friday released a fresh timetable for as many as 21 trains, mostly of long-distance ones.

Besides, it also announced extension of three trains. The Howrah-Koraput-Howrah Samaleswari Express will now be extended  to Jagdalpur, Bhubaneswar-Jharsuguda-Bhubaneswar Rajyarani Express to Rourkela while Raipur-Kesinga-Raipur passenger will be extended to Bhawanipatna.

The frequency of Kharagpur-Villupuram-Kharagpur Express will be increased to twice a week. It will operate on Wednesdays and Fridays from Kharagpur and on Mondays and Wednesdays from Villupuram. Shalimar-Chennai-Shalimar Weekly Superfast Express will be flagged off at Shalimar on July 3 and Chennai on July 5.

Besides, more new trains will be introduced later. The new ones include weekly superfast trains between Visakhapatnam and Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Sai Nagar Shirdi, Visakhapatnam and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT), one new weekly Garib Rath Express between Puri and Yesvantpur, a new weekly superfast train between Puri and Chennai, Bhubaneswar and Tirupati, a daily link express train between Bhubaneswar and Bhawanipatna via Vizianagaram, Gunupur and Palasa.

That apart, a weekly AC express train between Secunderabad and Shalimar, a weekly Express between Puri and Bikaner, a tri-weekly Express between Durg and Jagdalpur, a weekly superfast train between Asansol and Chennai via Jharsuguda-Sambalpur-Vizianagaram have also been included. The timings will be notified once the trains are officially inaugurated.
