Metro rail will be a reality for Surat city by 2017-18. Immediately after the nod from State government , Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has started the process of making Detailed project report (DPR) in conjunction with Gujarat Urban Development Company (GUDC) , which will play a role of a technical cell for project.
