President of the South Western Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (SWRWWO) Rashmi Mital has appealed to students to convince and motivate their neighbours to plant saplings in their localities.She was addressing a gathering during the inauguration of the ‘Tree Plantation Programme’ held at the SWRWWO English-medium High School located on Gadag Road here on Tuesday.Ms. Mital said the initiative was a way to create awareness among children about environment conservation. Highlighting the need to plant saplings on a regular basis and nurture them, Ms. Mital said a tree in one’s neighbourhood created an atmosphere of natural beauty and serenity around it.Executive committee members of SWRWWO Dipti Joshi, Jyoti Govindkumar, Kanchan and others were present. |
