Train services along the south eastern route were affected on Monday morning due to a strike in Odisha.While Howrah-Puri Duronto Express, Howrah-Bhubaneswar Jan Shatabdi Express and five passenger trains were cancelled, many other express trains were stopped at Jaleswar, Balasore, Rupsa and Bahanagabazar stations in the Kharagpur-Bhadrak section.According a South Eastern Railway spokesperson, as movement of trains on East Coast Railway were disrupted due to protests, many trains on the south eastern route could not depart.Trains that were detained at various stations include Puri-Howrah Sri Jagannath Express, Secunderabad-Shalimar Express, Guwahati-Bangalore Express, Howrah-Puri Dhauli Express, Rourkela-Bhubaneswar Intercity Express and Howrah-Korapur Jagdalpur Express.Movement of trains was normalised after 12.30 p.m., the spokesperson added. |
