Railway has announced measures taken by it to prevent accidents in future. As per the recommendations of High-Level Safety Review Committee these steps were taken instantly so that any incident or accident can be fully averted.

  • To avoid collisions and to ensure safety due to (SPAD Signal Passing at Danger) or over speeding of train TCAS i.e. Train Collision Avoidance System will be deployed which continuously updates the movement upfront through radio communication. This system is capable of averting train accidents caused due to non-observance of speed restrictions by loco pilots.
  • TCAS system has Driver Machine Interface inside loco that displays signal aspect. This system has been tested effectively on pilot basis at Lingamapalli-Vikarabad-Wadi-Bidar section of South Central Railway.
  • Apart from TCAS; TPWS (Train Protection and Warning System) will be deployed to tackle any incidents or accidents in case of signal jump by driver or over speeding.
  • Elimination of Unmanned Level Crossing has been done aggressively by railways by either closing them if there is negligible vehicle units or by constructing subways or through diversion roads.
