Title - Speed up development works, says Valyapure

District in-charge Minister Sunil Valyapure has directed officials to speed up development works in the city.After a tour of the city on Tuesday, the Minister criticised the delay in completing works. Mr. Valyapure visited the ring road, indoor stadium, district hospital, drinking water and underground drainage works taken up with Asian Development Bank funds, and the water purification unit on Janawada road.He set a deadline of 24 hours to repair the X-Ray machine at the district hospital.Mr. Valyapure said the number of patients visiting the hospital was increasing every day but patients were not getting timely care. He inspected attendance registers of doctors and asked officials to complete the process of finalising the tender for CAT scan equipment.Later, the Minister directed officials to complete the indoor stadium in three months. “I have also directed officials to complete the ring road soon,” he told presspersons.Mr. Valyapure said he would convene a meeting of Railways and departments of Revenue and Public Works to discuss the status of the railway underbridge and overbridge under construction in the city.He asked Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board officials to ensure the drinking water purification unit on Janawada Road functioned properly.“You should ensure that chlorinated water is supplied to residents everyday,” he said.

Mr. Valyapure directed KUWSDB and city municipal council officials to work in coordination. He also said that incidents of robbery and thefts were increasing in the city and asked officials to ensure action against offenders.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Noor Mansoor, Additional Superintendent of Police B.S. Marthurkar and zilla panchayat president Baburao Karbari were present.
