The government has decided to make arrangements for operation of special train and RTC services to Tirupati from different places in the State to facilitate those delegates and others who failed to get reserved accommodation so far, to attend World Telugu Conference (WTC) starting there from December 27. If the railway authorities rule out running special trains due to some reasons, efforts will be made to get at least some extra bogies attached to the existing Tirupati-bound trains. The decision was taken at a meeting here on Monday where Chief Secretary Minnie Mathew reviewed the arrangements being made for the event, responding over the messages received from several people that they failed to get reservation tickets. As per the present calculations, over 10,000 delegates are expected to turn up for the WTC, 1,000 of them from abroad representing different countries and 2,000-3000 from other States within the country. |
