Title - Special trains for Onam, Velankanni festivals

The Southern Railway has announced special trains on three routes during the Onam and Velankanni festival seasons.

The trains are on the routes of Chennai Central-Mangalore Junction, Nagercoil-Velankanni and Chennai Central- Nagercoil. Advance reservation for the trains will begin on Sunday.

Chennai Central - Mangalore Junction Superfast special & Mangalore Junction -Chennai Central Special:

Train no 06003 Chennai Central - Mangalore Junction Superfast Special will leave Chennai Central at 21.00 hrs on September 14 and September 21 and arrive at Mangalore Junction at 12.45 hrs next day.

Train no 06004 Mangalore Junction - Chennai Central Special will leave Mangalore Junction at 14.45 hrs on September 15 and September 22 and arrive at Chennai Central at 07.45 hrs the next day.

The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 4 AC 3-tier, 11 Sleeper Class, 3 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The trains will stop at Arakkonam, Katpadi, Gudiyattam, Vaniyambadi, Jolarpettai, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Shoranur, Kuttipuram, Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur, Payyanur, Kanhangad and Kasaragod. Train no.06004 will stop at Perambur also.

Nagercoil - Velankanni - Nagercoil Special: Train no 06302 Nagercoil - Velankanni Special will leave Nagercoil at 14.00 hrs on August 27 and arrive at Velankanni at 03.00 hrs the next day.

Train no 06301 Velankanni - Nagercoil Special will leave Velankanni at 13.00 hrs on August 28 and arrive at Nagercoil at 02.45 hrs the next day.

The composition of the trains will be 1 AC  2-tier, 3 AC 3-tier, 8 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The trains will stop at Valliyur, Tirunelveli, Vanchi Maniyachchi, Kovilpatti, Satur, Virudhunagar, Aruppukottai, Manamadurai, Sivaganga, Devakottai, Karaikkudi, Pudukkottai, Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.

Chennai Central - Nagercoil - Chennai Central Special (via Chennai Egmore):

Train no. 06005 Chennai Central - Nagercoil Special will leave Chennai Central at 17.40 hrs on September 7 and arrive at Nagercoil at 09.30 hrs the next day. Train no 06006 Nagercoil - Chennai Central Special will leave Nagercoil at 13.20 hrs  on September 8 and arrive Chennai Central at 05.00 hrs the next day.

The composition of the trains will be 1 AC 2-tier, 4 AC 3-tier, 11 Sleeper Class, 3 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches.

The trains will stop at Chennai Egmore, Tambaram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Virudhachalam, Tiruchirappalli, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sattur, Kovilpatti, Vanchi Maniyachchi, Tirunelveli and Valliyur. Train number 06006 will stop at Mambalam also.
