Northern Railway will run several special trains to clear the rush of passengers in view of the upcoming festive season. As many as 572 special trains will be run on short and long distance routes in the zone. To ensure smooth functioning and hassle-free purchase of rail tickets, the Railways will provide additional counters at busy locations and form special squads of commercial officers to curb touts.The routes on which special trains will run include Delhi, Patna, Udhampur, Jammu Tawi, Varanasi, Lucknow and Gaya during August-December this year. The 02393 Patna-Anand Vihar Terminal tri-weekly special train will depart from Patna at 8 p.m. every Monday, Thursday and Saturday to arrive at Anand Vihar at 12 noon the next day. In the return direction, the 02394 Anand Vihar-Patna tri-weekly festival special will depart from Anand Vihar terminal at 6-35 p.m. every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday to arrive at Patna at 9-50 a.m. the next day.Other festival special trains are 04033/04034 Udhampur-Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Udhampur super fast (tri- weekly), 04051/04052 Anand Vihar-Jammu Tawi-Anand Vihar Express (tri-weekly), 04203/04204 Varanasi-Delhi Jn-Varanasi Express (tri-weekly), 04201/04202 Lucknow-New Delhi-Lucknow Express (tri-weekly), 04022/04021 Patna-Delhi Jn-Patna Daily Express, 04024/04023 Darbhanga-Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Darbhanga (bi-weekly) and 03685/03686 Delhi Jn.-Gaya (weekly). |
