With the sense of fear subsiding among the people of the Northeast, students and office-goers who came out of their region to be among the rest of India are now ready to return to their usual way of life.A special train, carrying people who had returned to the Northeast from the southern states following threats of attack, will leave Guwahati for Bangalore on Thursday.Northeast Frontier Railway’s spokesman S Hajong on Wednesday said the train will leave here at 1.15 pm and would have more than 16 coaches.It will halt at Rangia, Barpeta Road, New Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar stations in Assam, he said.The Assam government has provided free tickets after those hailing from Assam and wishing to return registered their names with the concerned deputy commissioners of their respective districts, sources said.The State Government has made payment for purchasing the tickets to the Railways by way of account transfer, the sources said.Earlier two special trains taking passengers back to Bangalore from Guwahati had left on September 1 and 8. |
