Title - South Eastern Railway completes line doubling work in iron ore belt between Jaroli and Banspani in O

Banspani stations in Chakradharpur Division had been completed. This would immensely help in freight train operations as these two stations are located in the heavy iron ore loading areas.

This was announced during a strategy planning meeting held at the headquarters of South Eastern Railway on Monday. The meeting was chaired by the general manager of SER A K Verma.

All the principal heads of the department in the headquarters and the four Divisional Railway Managers from Kharagpur, Adra,

Chakradharpur and Ranchi Divisions were also present in the meeting where a large number of issues concerning the railways were discussed threadbare.

The review meeting was held to assess the performance of SER in the first quarter of the current financial year (April-June'12) and set new targets and make plans for the next three quarters.

At the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various performance aspects like Loading Prospects, Passenger Complaints, Safety, Punctuality, Works and Scrap Disposal.

In the first quarter of 2012-13, there has been a 5% increase in the total number of passengers carried by SER. While the figure was 64.73 million in the first half of 2011-12, it went up to 68.01 million in the corresponding period of 2012-13.
