There is a good news and bad news for travellers who travel in general coaches. Railways will soon start reservation in general coaches in some important trains. Eyeing too much rush in general coaches of train running on important routes railway officials are working on how to implement the process. The good thing will be for those passengers who travel frequently in general coach and always find hard to get a seat. In north eastern railway zone this facility will be first introduced in trains connecting to Delhi and Mumbai. Extra coaches may be attached for the same with a board of āDā and the tickets will be issued according to seat number. Gorakhdham express that runs from Gorakhpur to Hisar via New Delhi has already been into this process for trial. Trains that usually departs for Mumbai always carry heavy rush in its general coaches so much so that most of the times a person cannot even find a place to stand properly. The only problem with reservation in general coaches is that those passengers who are dependent on travelling with general ticket without reservation may not get a ticket if seats are full. In that case they have to check out other trains. Passenger trains are omitted from this system as railway officials say that in passenger trains travellers usually travel for very short distance. Through reservation in general coach railway is also eyeing extra income as a reservation charge will be imposed to book reserved tickets in general compartments. |
