DMRC has decided to put half screen doors on all stations from Central Secretariat to Kashmere Gate except Patel Chowk. The stations are – Central Secretariat, Rajiv Chowk, New Delhi, Chawri Bazar, Chandni Chowk and Kashmere Gate. The work is expected to take about two years to complete as it will be very difficult to carry out construction work in operational stations. By December, 2013, all trains on Lines 2 and 3 will be either of six or eight coaches. On line 2, there will be 60 trains out of which more than half will be of eight coaches and on Line 3, 71 trains will be there out of which about half will be of eight coaches. By June 2015, all trains will be of eight coaches on Lines 2 and 3. On Line 1, all trains will be converted into six coaches by June 2015. Currently, there are no plans to revise the Metro fares. However, DMRC is in a process of reviewing the organisation’s operating expenses. |
