Title - Snag disrupts Blue Line service again
Posted by : puneetmafia on Aug 22, 2013 - 08:00:14 AM

A day after the Delhi Metro broke a new ridership record with 26 lakh passengers using its network, services on the Blue Line connecting Dwarka Sector-21 and Noida City Centre were disrupted on Tuesday, once again. A problem with an insulator located on the overhead electrification (OHE) poles between Karol Bagh and R.K. Ashram Metro station caused services to be partially disrupted from 12.40 p.m. to 2 p.m.

On Friday last week, a similar problem with the OHE system on the same corridor left hundreds of commuters stranded at various stations. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, noting that the insulator had failed once again, stated that “prima facie it appears to be design defect”. The DMRC plans to replace the insulators progressively as a long-term permanent measure.

As a short-term measure, the DMRC is providing sealant at all the existing insulators.
