KOLKATA: The weatherman may have announced the arrival of the monsoons but South Eastern Railway (SER) will continue to run two south-bound special trains from Santragachi and Shalimar till the end of June. This will help to clear the rush of passengers, officials feel. The two trains are the Santragachi-Kochuveli (Kerala) Summer Special and the Shalimar-Chennai Superfast Summer Special. These two trains were very popular among tourists from Kolkata who toured south India during the summer vacations.According to officials, the 02851 Santragachi-Kochuveli Summer Special will leave Santragachi at 4.05 pm on Saturday, June 23 and reach Kochuveli at 1.45 pm on Monday, June 25. On its return journey, the 02852 Kochuveli-Santragachi Summer Special will leave Kochuveli at 4.15 am on Tuesday, June 26 and reach Santragachi at 3.00 am on Thursday, June 28. The 08041 Shalimar-Chennai Superfast Summer Special will leave Shalimar at 12.20 pm on Tuesday, June 19 and June 26 and reach Chennai at 5 pm the next day. In the return direction, 08042 Chennai-Shalimar Superfast Summer Special will start from Chennai at 4.15 pm on Thursday, June 21 and June 28 and reach Shalimar at 9.30 pm the next day.Both the summer specials will have two AC-3 tier, seven Sleeper Class, three General Second Class coaches and two Luggage Vans. The bookings for these trains started from Sunday. |
