Security has been stepped up by South Eastern Railway with random anti-sabotage friskings and deploying 25 sniffer dogs following serial bomb blasts in Pune on August 2.SER General Manager A K Verma while briefing reporters said the security measures would continue at all stations, in trains and railway premises till August 15 as per directive from the Centre.Close co-ordination was being maintained between the RPF and GRP as well as the local police.Random anti-sabotage checkings were being carried out in railway premises and passengers were randomly frisked at major railway stations.SER was also using 25 sniffer dogs for anti sabotage checks at major stations like Kharagpur, Tatanagar, Rourkela, Bankura Adra, Bokaro, Ranchi and Muri.Announcements were being made in major stations sensitising the passengers about unclaimed, unattended objects/luggage or suspicious objects in the railway premises and requesting them to promptly inform the RPF/GRP. |
