Title - SCR employees stage protest

Employees of the South Central Railway Rail Mazdoor Union, Vijayawada Division, on Wednesday organised a protest dharna demanding the management solution for their problems.The workers said that injustice was being done to supervisors in the railways by not allotting the grade pay, and demanded implementation of Rs.4,800 grade pay for supervisors. They appealed to the management to merge grade-I and grade-II technicians, fill up vacancies of grade-III technicians.Though more number of trains were introduced, the SCR had not taken up recruitment of necessary posts for maintenance of wagons, engines in loco/diesel sheds and in engineering departments, said the workers.The union leaders submitted a memorandum to the SCR Divisional Railway manager and urge to solve the demands immediately.
