NEW DELHI: Eight-year-old Swayam loves curd. He doesn't know much about it, except that it's yummy. And he learnt in school that it contains a bacteria called lactobacillus acidophilus. Therefore, when he was asked to name the national microbe of his choice, among seven other names of bacteria, he chose the one he thought was cool.

At the Science Express, a train stationed at the Safdarjung railway station, children and adults have been participating in a unique poll to decide the country's national microbe. And ask them what's the wisdom behind their choices, they have many things to say.
