Title - Sanskruthi Sangam, Cultural Festival Inaugurated

Shri K.L. Pandey, Additional General Manager, South Central Railway inaugurated a three day  Sanskruthi Sangam, a Cultural Festival of Drama, Music and Dance today (2ndOctober, 2013) by lighting a ceremonial lamp. The programme is jointly organised by South Central Railway and West Central Railway under the aegis of Andhra Lalita Kala Samiti at Rail Nilayama, Secunderabad from 2nd to 4th October, 2013. Shri Ganeshwara Rao, Chief Commercial Manager (Passenger Service) & President, SCR Andhra Lalitha Kala Samiti also present o­n the occasion. Officers and staff of SCR and artists from West Central Railway participated in large number.

In his presidential address, Shri K.L. Pandey, Addl. General Manager, SCR lauded the efforts of SCR Andhra Lalitha Kala Samiti in preserving and promoting the Indian art and culture through organising Sanskruthi Sangam, since heritage and culture prevailing in our country add value to the Nation’s life. Music, Dance and Drama together play a vital role in disseminating crucial messages in the interest of the well being of the society, he added.

Shri. Chatla Sree Ramulu, a renowned Cine, T.V, Stage Artiste and Director, while delivering a guest lecture o­n ‘Theatre’ said that Theatre is local and not universal, but it has become universal by adopting all forms of arts. Public Solitude’ is the vital thing to be possessed by the actor and o­ne should strive for it with dedication. Mythological Drama would teach about dharma, Historical Drama would talk about facts and the Modern Drama would preach justice, he added.

Shri. Vinay Varma, a renowned Stage Artiste from ‘Sutradhar’ said that folk theatre which is the mother of modern drama.  Artiste should not act o­n the stage, but should perform the role of the character and o­ne can do it by motivation, said Vinay Varma in his lecture. Drama is a live programme and the actor has to perform role of the character while the other elements like background music may o­nly add value to the drama, he added.

Two playlets viz., Bade Bhai Sahab and Oh Dad Chill, written by Shri K.L. Pandey, AGM / SCR, directed by Shri Sanjay Garg were staged by the artists West Central Railway.  Another playlet Kinu Kahar Ka Theatre,  directed by Shri Sopan Mondal, was staged by artistes from South Central Railway.

Musical Extravanganza by the artistes of South Central Railway and West Central Railway will be held o­n 3rd Oct, 2013 at Railway Officers Club, Lallaguda. Various forms of dance  and instrumental ensemble will be performed  on 4th Oct, 2013 at Rail Nilayam Auditorium.
