Chennai: Gold worth Rs 4 crore was looted from gold merchants from the Thiruvananthapuram-Chennai Express. The gold was looted from Varadaram, Madan Singh and Jithendra Singh, who were on their way to Chennai from Coimbatore. They are working in a jewellery shop in Sowkarpet, Chennai. And were looted between Tirupur and Erode.

They started their journey from Chennai on September 21 from a jewellery shop owned by Vindo Jain to Coimbatore. On Sunday night they boarded the Thiruvananthapuram - Chennai Express. They kept the bag with 13 kg gold under the seat and chained it. After some time when they examined the bag, the gold was not there and the chain was found damaged. They filed a complaint with the railway police.
