Title - Rs 154.4 crore revenue in three months by Jaisalmer railway station

Jaisalmer railway station transports limestone and is already one of the maximum revenue generating station in the country. This time it has set a new record in terms of revenue generation.

A revenue of 154.4 crore has been generated in last three months by Jaisalmer railway station. In transporting goods, other stations of North Western Railway have also set new records. Through modernisation of infrastructure railway authorities have set a 10 year roadmap to increase revenue share from 24% to 37%.

Railway transport more than three million tonnes of goods every year and generates its heavy chunk of profitable revenue by transporting cement, petroleum products, coal, iron, food grains, steel, fertilizers and goods in containers.

To transport different items, railway use different coaches and Jaisalmer railway station mainly transports limestone.

This year, Indian Railways transported 1107.1 million tonne goods. 223 rakes per day of Coal was transported by Railway.
