Title - Rs. 10,000 crore Indore-Manmad railway project got Rs. 100 crore in budget

In a rather cruel joke, an estimated Rs 10,000 crore Indore - Manmad rail project has been given just Rs. 100 crore in the latest rail budget. The 339 kilometer long rail line from Indore to Manmad is said to bring down the distance between Indore and Mumbai by 150 kms. This would have also helped to bring down the transportation cost drastically as consignments would have directly dispatched from Pithampur  (Industrial area near to Indore) to Mumbai.

Experts say that considering Rs 100 crore is a very small amount considering the total estimated cost, will not help this ambitious project on time. And if such will be the funding process then expect nothing less than 10 years for the completion.

Chief of Indore-Manmad Railway Project Struggle Committee, Manoj Marathe expressed deep disappointment over the paucity of fund in railway ministry.
