VADODARA: Continuing its drive against unauthorized railway ticket agents, the railway protection force (RPF) has arrested owner of a city-based travel agency for his alleged involvement in a railway e-ticket racket.According to officials of the Vadodara railway division of Western Railways, the owner of Warasia-based travel agency, a fake agent, was earning hefty commissions by black marketing e-tickets.Officials suggest that RPF had received a tip off regarding the black marketing of e-tickets by Warasia-based Govind Travel Agency on Monday.The RPF sleuths raided the travel agency as part of the drive against unauthorized railway ticket agents and arrested its owner Dinesh Hirvani, 34, while seizing tatkal tickets from the travel agency's office.The officials have also seized a CPU from the travel agent's office while registering a case against Hirvani under section 143.Last month, the RPF had arrested owner of a Fatehgunj-based travel agency who was not only earning hefty commissions by black marketing e-tickets but also operating an unauthorized travel agency. The RPF had arrested Rushi Sadhu, owner of Yashi Tour and Travels on May 11 while seizing four e-tickets worth Rs 8,616.Upon interrogation, the officials had come to know that Sadhu was allegedly earning Rs 1,200 as commission on each e-ticket that he sold. He used to book these e-tickets through his personal id. |
