Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said Sunday he wished to focus on results, so that the people of the state could benefit, and he had no desire to address needless scandal."I am the least interested in addressing baseless remarks that create controversy. I am interested in the performance of my government, and want to work for the good of the people," Chandy told reporters. The chief minister was addressing the media on the performance of the "One Year Programmes" announced in November last."We had announced 664 programmes, of which 374 have been completed; 235 are ongoing. The performance yardstick shows 91.71 percent success," Chandy said.Among the major programmes announced last year was the high-speed rail corridor that would connect the two tips of the state."See, this project was entrusted to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. The desired progress on it could not take place, following protests over land acquisition. We will not go ahead with any project without clearing all the doubts of the people," Chandy said. The chief minister said that the "Emerging Kerala" summit of September attracted many proposals, and these are now being vetted by various government departments."There is a time schedule that we have worked out and it is going as planned. In 90 days' time, the respective government departments will come out with a list of proposals that have been cleared. Then on, we will be in implementation mode," Chandy said. |
