Title - Red Ribbon Express arrives in Nagaland

The special exhibition 'Red Ribbon' Train - (phase III) which comprises of seven coaches, to sensitize people about the dreaded disease HIV/AIDS and its preventive measures, has arrived for a two-day halt at Dimapur railway station this morning.Nagaland Governor Nikhil Kumar, who was the Chief Guest for the inaugural programme said the Red Ribbon Express, complimented the Government of India for conceiving the project and said it has proved to be very popular and drawn good response from the public.He said India was fairly high in infection, but in the past ten years the AIDS prevalence rate has declined in the the country due to the determined efforts government and the non-governmental organization's (NGO's) and the other stakeholders.Mr Kumar, while speaking on Nagaland state AIDS scenario, said the state prevalence rate has a negative growth rate.The Governor complimented the state government and the Department of Health and Family Welfare for playing pro-active role in bringing down the AIDS prevalence rate from 1.20 per cent to 0.87 per cent.It is however, not enough, the good work must be carried to the remotest part of our state, and he look forward to the day, when, eradication is achieved, he added.
