Title - Railways to celebrate 125th anniversary of Kozhikode railway station

MANGALORE: Railways have decided to celebrate the commemorative 125th year of Kozhikode railway station during January 2013. As part of the celebration, Palakkad division is planning to conduct an exhibition by showcasing history and heritage of railways' development particularly on Kozhikode and Malabar area. The exhibition will be conducted at Kozhikode Railway Institute Building, which incidentally completes 125 years.

The public, in possession of railway related history and heritage value items will get an opportunity to participate in the exhibition. Railways will give all required assistance to display the items. Other public those who are having such item and are unable to participate individually in the exhibition may contact and handover the items to P Abdul Azeez, chairman (9746745537) or KS Rajesh, secretary (9446081241) of Kozhikode Railway Institute.

Railways will make necessary arrangement to display those items. After the exhibition the items handed over will be returned safely to the exhibitors concerned. In addition to this one steam locomotive will be displayed permanently at the main entrance of Kozhikode station. In the second entry, one hand operated crane and a railway protection force fire engine will be displayed permanently.
