LUCKNOW: In a bid to make train travel easy and safe for passengers, Railways will start a crackdown against unauthorised travel agents to recover tickets booked under fictitious names. Railways will also keep an eye on reservation clerks to act against any kind of nexus between its own staff and the agents. A record of tickets prepared by reservation staff, in the morning shift, will be prepared every hour. The staff issuing more than the usual number of tickets will be under scanner. Railways will also deploy ticket checking staff in regular coaches, special trains and extra coaches to prevent anomalies. The passengers, who forcefully occupy spaces in unreserved and reserved coaches, will be dealt strictly with. To allow entry in unreserved coaches, passengers will be asked to queue up in the presence of GRP and RPF personnel. Railways will also watch against the misuse of different types of reservation quota. To inform passengers as early as possible, details of extra coaches will be uploaded on the public reservation system (PRS). People will also be informed about extra coaches through media as well. |
