Title - Railways request public participation in Kozhikode station celebrations

MANGALORE: Railways have decided to celebrate the commemorative 125th year of Kozhikode Railway station during January 2013.

As the part of the celebrations, Palakkad division is planning to conduct an exhibition by showcasing history and heritage of railways' development particularly on Kozhikode and Malabar area. The exhibition will be conducted at Kozhikode Railway Institute Building, which incidentally completes 125 years.

The public, in possession of railway related history and heritage value items are given an opportunity to participate in the exhibition. All the required assistance to display the items will be made by railways. Other public those who are having such item and unable to participate individually in the exhibition may contact and handover the items to P. Abdul Azeez, the Chairman (9746745537) or K. S. Rajesh, Sectary (9446081241) of Kozhikode Railway Institute.

Railways will make necessary arrangement to display those items. After the exhibition the items handed over will be returned safely to the parties. In addition to this one Steam locomotive will be displayed permanently in the main entrance of Kozhikode station.

In the second entry one hand operated crane and an RPF fire engine will be displayed permanently.
