VADODARA: The railways may add more coaches to the Vadodara-Chhotaudepur train that was flagged off on Friday by union minister of state for railways Bharat Solanki. Solanki said that the train presently had five coaches, but if there is demand more coaches will be added to the train.Solanki added that there was rush for the train and more coaches could be added to it to take care of the rush. Solanki also spoke regarding the extension of the route to Dhar in Madhya Pradesh (MP) while flagging off the train.According to Solanki, the work on the track between Chhotaudepur and Dhar was progressing at a good pace. He said that eventually this would lead to a significant reduction in distance between Indore in MP and Mumbai too.Solanki informed the gathering that the gauge conversion between Bharuch and Dahej had led to good profits for the railways. He said that coal was being ferried in large amounts on the route.Solanki pointed out that there were several technical difficulties in extending the train to Chhotaudeput from Pratapnagar to Vadodara. But, he said, the railway officials had made this possible.Solanki also announced a scheme for mobile ticket booking counters at the ceremony. He said that vans with ticketing facilities would go to six places on six days a week to ensure that people could book tickets at a nearby location. |
