A special drive has been launched by the Vijayawada Division of Railways with Sr. Divisional Commercial Manager L.S.R.K. Sastry, and Asst. Commercial Manager –I Ch. L. Narasimham in the lead to check the menace of carrying fire crackers /inflammable objects/ dangerous goods/petrol tank of vehicles, using multi-plug socket in coaches etc.During the recent checks at Vijayawada Station and other Railway stations of Vijayawada Division, it was noticed that some passengers were carrying five kg. small gas cylinders in cloth hand bag and were arrested and handed over to the Police for necessary action. The railway authorities also found that most of the air-conditioned class passengers were using multi-plug chargers from a single socket, which may lead to short circuit.The Railways has appealed to the travelling public to desist from carrying any inflammable articles/objects/fire crackers etc. in trains or resort to using multi-socket pins /chargers in A/C coaches and avoid /desist from resorting to these acts which will endanger the lives of passengers from major fire disaster etc.Even while booking two-wheeler by trains the passengers have been advised to check that there was no trace of petrol in the fuel tank. |
