Title - Railways approaches IIT Bombay to improve local train services

Reportedly western railways approached IIT Bombay to suggest some ways to improve local train operations. A presentation was given to raiway officials on Wednesday.
“During the presentation, IIT-B concluded that our theoretical plan of scheduling services was more or less correct. However, certain changes in signalling and acceleration of trains were suggested to improve punctuality,” an official said. Sharat Chandrayan, chief public relations officer of WR said, “IIT-B has been asked to come out with a report to help the administration optimize its resources. While Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation (MRVC) is will purchase software worth Rs 5 crore from a German company, WR is looking at improving its suburban operations.”
