Thiruvananthapuram: Divisional Railway Users' Consultative Committee (DRUCC) was held at Railway Divisional Office in Palakkad, today.Chairman of the Committee and Divisional Railway Manager Piyush Agarwal, who presided over the meeting, said the DRUCC had been formed with a view to provide larger representation for the railway users in the planning process of providing amenities for its users and identifying areas for improving the efficiency of such services, according to a railway press release here.Highlighting the performance of the division during the period from April to August 2012-13, he said the division had had been excellent positive growth in all spheres with an overall earnings of Rs 343 crores achieving an increasing of 51% over the previous year.The Division had speeded up 44 trains saving 700 minutes in overall running time within the division during July 2011 and again July 2012 division had speeded up 53 trains saving about 350 minutes.He told the division has generated additional carrying capacity of 1344 per day by augmenting coaches. |
