Title - Railway puts out Data showing its dedication towards passenger convenience

According to the recently published data Indian Railways has taken record measures till date to add convenience of passengers during the last fiscal year as follows –

• Special Trains: About 31, 438 trips of special trains were introduces to help manage passenger rush.
• Train services speeded up - 350 trains were speeded up while 104 trains were converted to superfast express trains.
• Extra Coach Augmentation – As many as 586 extra coaches augmented in regular train thereby increasing total capacity to 43,420 berths.
• Additional berths - Capacity of reserved berths was increased to about 50 crores by adding about 1 crore more berths.
• New Services - 87 new train services were introduced and 51 trains were extended. Apart from this frequency of 5 trains were increased. New trains include – Humsafar, Antyodaya, DEMU and MEMU trains.
• New rakes: 34 pairs of trains were replaced with LHB rakes by utilizing 42 LHB rakes.
