Minister of state for Railways, Manoj Sinha said in a press conference – “I feel that railways is becoming a soft target which it is. I do not mind accepting it.” Centre is making all the effort to prevent terrorism – he quoted over a series of mishaps in the recent times. He also quoted that, “law and order is a state subject.” To tackle such forces railways has also taken steps to upgrade skills of railway protection force which has limited resources. Railway is already in discussion with home ministry to provide adequate resources to RPF so that it can handle such incidents. Manoj Sinha referred recent arrests made by police in which accused admitted that for every blast a sum of rupees 3-lakh was earned by them. IB and RAW is already looking into this matter. He also emphasized on fencing of tracks as in the current scenario any animal or person can cross the tracks on their will. Railway has already identified 8 sectors for high speed trains. Work is in advance stage and if high speed rail is to run fencing has to be done. |
