Railway started Suvidha Special trains so that passengers can really have “Suvidha” (facility) of available seats even during the most demanding times and really Suvidha Special does provide the luxury of available seats. However the problem with Suvidha trains are that their flexi fare system is much more demanding than compared to airlines that is why a AC 3 Tier ticket rose to such heights that it became way costlier than airline ticket. Just check out the numbers – The normal price for an AC 3 Tier ticket of Bhopal to Delhi will cost you Rs 1045 but it shot up as high as Rs 2500. You might feel it is not costlier than an air ticket than check out this. If you would have booked ticket to travel between Kolkata to Delhi in AC 3 tier, you needed to shell out Rs 7,185 and Rs. 9000 for AC 2 tier while air fare between Delhi to Kolkata is Rs 5000. A normal AC 3 tier fare from Delhi to Chennai is Rs 2000 which went as high as 7,185. In the same way Chennai-Kolkata normal AC 3 tier fare is Rs 1,775 which went upto Rs 6,305. Railway runs Suvidha trains only during peak season on busiest routes in order to earn more but while earning they want to burn a hole in passenger’s pockets, is forcing passengers to take aerial route. |
