Title - Raillway stations remain jampacked

ALLAHABAD: Heavy rush of pilgrims was seen at Allahabad junction and the adjoining stations Jhunsi, Prayag, Prayag Ghat and Rambagh on the occasion of Paush Poornima on Sunday. Special Mela trains ferried thousands of pilgrims.

Passengers going in the various directions at the Allahabad railway junction were stationed at the enclosures set up for the purpose. The RPF and GRP personnel were deputed at the various points of the stations to manage the heavy flow of pilgrims.

About nine Mela special trains were plied from Allahabad and Naini junction. From Naini, two trains were plied in Jhansi direction, one in Itarsi, one in Jabalpur and one from Bina direction. From Allahabad, four Mela special trains were plied. One was plied in Kanpur direction, one in Kanpur, one in Fatehpur and the last was plied in the Mumbai direction.

About 10 incoming Mela special trains arrived at Allahabad and Naini junction. In Allahabad, three Mela special trains arrived: one from Vishakahapatnam and two from Kanpur direction. About Seven Mela trains arrived at Naini junction: one from Bina, one from Itarsi, two from Jabalpur, two from Jhansi and other from Kanpur via Banda direction.
