Title - Rail traffic suspended for 2 hours

Phagwara : The upline rail traffic on the Nawanshahr-Phagwara section remained suspended for two hours, causing inconvenience to hundreds of commuters travelling in Jalandhar-bound trains.The Nawanshahr-Jalandhar diesel multiple unit (DMU) was stranded due to the engine failure, first near the Banga railway station and then at the Behram railway station. The train reached the Phagwara railway station at 2.50 pm against its scheduled time of 12.55 pm.Despite getting green signal, the DMU could not move from Phagwara railway station due to a technical snag and the passengers of the train again were stranded till 4.50 pm.Phagwara station superintendent Ashok Kumar said, the DMU proceeded for its destination later when a new engine was brought from Jalandhar.
