BOKARO: The public enquiry system and amenities related to the disabled passengers will be improved at Bokaro Railway station.

Arvind Mittal, who has recently taken over as the divisional railway manager ( DRM) of Adra division, realized on his first visit to Bokaro station on Friday that the passengers were facing difficulties without a proper public information system and has directed officials to enhance the facility as soon as possible.

However, to draw Mittal's attention, more than 200 auto drivers, headed by JMM leader Manto Yadav, demonstrated outside the station demanding demolition of the boundary wall of the new auto stand since it has made accessibility to the stand difficult for passengers . Mittal, however, assured that he would look into the matter.

Mittal along with senior officials inspected the railway station and visited different offices, ticket counters, waiting halls etc. It is the only station in the Adra division which is in Jharkhand and is one of the highest revenue earners in South Eastern Railway (SER). Around 5,000 passengers use the station and more than 33 trains originate or pass through it.
