Title - Plea for broader subway

Hundreds of people in Oddanchatram picketed Dindigul-Palani highway on Friday demanding construction of a broad subway under the railway track.The railways have closed an unmanned level crossing and set up a manned level crossing few hundred metres away. The existing subway is of use to autorickshaws and two-wheelers only. Heavy vehicles cannot use it. The residents want a 30-foot wide subway between the old and new level crossings so that all vehicles can use it.
